Private meeting on woodchip plant cancelled

An “invitation only” presentation about the proposed North Springfield Sustainable Energy Project for area select boards today was cancelled Monday after questions were raised about the legality of the meeting.

  1. Sleeze at work. Maybe if they offered a "free" trip to the Bahamas to "study" the plant it would have gotten more attendees?

  2. Idiots, I can't say much more about the select board. I guess lunch break is over better get back to work so they can afford their trips to the Bahamas!

    1. It can't be that bad, no one is running against the incumbent up for election this year.

  3. Let me guess why this meetingwas canceled?
Could it be because no one that was invited was opposed to it?

  4. Slow news day - when a meeting that was not held is considered a headline maker! Sad.

It might have been conducted in violation of the state's open meeting law, 3:45. The more local the politics, the less likely the participants are to want to be exposed to humiliation and possible ostracism. So, this is actually fairly big news, but along the lines of "the dog that didn't bark" revealing who stole Silver Blaze.
