@$ID/NormalParagraphStyle:Biomass update to be held Wednesday
SPRINGFIELD — There will be a presentation Wednesday at the Unitarian-Universalist Church on Fairground Road to provide the community information about biomass power in Vermont. The event starts at 7 p.m.
The event is being sponsored by North Springfield Action Group, which opposes the proposed 35 megawatt wood-fired power plant in North Springfield
Hal Wilkins from Ramsey, McLaren, LLC, a planning and engineering firm from Westminster Station, will make a presentation.
Wilkins has more than 30 years of experience in commercial and industrial project development and analysis, as well as resource, energy and financial management. He has expertise in biomass and alternative energy development.
There will also be an update on the status of the proposed North Springfield biomass power facility, in particular the upcoming hearings before the Public Service Board. Technical hearings are slated to begin Thursday in Montpelier.
NoSAG said the event was open to all, both supporters and opponents of biomass.
With all the positive and negative press releases (and comments) I wish the state would act on the permit process and issue a statement as to the proposed plant. Can't come soon enough. Kinda like the elections--cant wait for the bs and comments to stop.

DeleteThis was an excellent meeting...with a pro-biomass engineer. He highlighted the benefits and challenges in getting a biomass plant off the ground. It was interesting.
