GREENFIELD - A Springfield, Vermont, man who was stopped by state police for speeding on I-91 was charged with heroin possession after he was found with the drug after his arrest for having an expired license, police said.
Robert Brown was taken into custody just before 2 p.m. Tuesday and charged with possession of a Class A substance, driving without a valid license, and speeding.
Trooper Sean Kenney was conducting stationary traffic enforcement along the side of I-91 southbound when he spotted Brown driving his 2002 Jaguar at a high rate of speed, police said.
He pulled the car over and took Brown into custody when he found Brown's driver's license had expired. While he was being booked at the Shelburne barracks, troopers found four packets of heroin and $614 in cash, police said.
Brown was scheduled to be arraigned in Greenfield District Court.
Did he purchase his auto from the local Springfield Jaguar dealer?
ReplyDeleteFinally, they are figuring out one of the places the drugs are coming from. There is hope for our town, if they stop the drugs from coming in, and make it too hard for the people bringing them in to "make a living."
