NJ teen accused of raping local woman By ERIC FRANCIS CORRESPONDENT | April 06,2013 Rutland Herald WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A New Jersey teenager is in jail on $275,000 bail after denying charges he sexually assaulted a 23-year-old Springfield woman. Rafael “Bang” Jaquez, 18, of North Bergen, N.J., pleaded innocent Thursday to two felony counts of aggravated sexual assault and an additional felony count of cocaine possession. Conviction on those charges could bring a jail term of 10 years to life. Jaquez is accused of sexually assaulting a woman who told police she was lured to an apartment on Wall Street in Springfield and drugged with a narcotic. Police said she was held against her will last weekend by the “Jersey boys,” a group of teenagers that police said are affiliated with the Bloods gang in New Jersey. The woman said the teenagers were at the apartment along with several local residents doing drugs over the weekend, according to police. The teens were angry with her because they believed she had informed on some of them during an investigation by the Vermont Drug Task Force, police said. The woman, who described herself to police as a recovering drug addict, said she managed to bolt from the apartment and knock on other doors in the building at 1 Wall St., located behind the Springfield town offices. Police said a resident let her call 911 and the building was soon surrounded by officers from a half-dozen area police departments. Jaquez and Daniel “DeeJay” Morales, 17, were arrested when police came upon them in a back room of an apartment sitting with a bag full of .22-caliber ammunition between them. The pair was arrested and charged with lying to police because of fake names they gave before a fingerprint comparison with FBI files brought their real identities to light, police said. The pair was back on the streets Monday, but were arrested again early Wednesday when the car they were riding in with another New Jersey teen and three local residents was stopped on Union Street. As a result of that traffic stop, 16-year-old Matthew “Money Matt” Frangos of New Jersey was charged with heroin trafficking after police said they discovered 50 small bags of heroin. Morales and Jaquez were also arrested and taken back to the Springfield Police station. Police said that after they were placed in separate interview rooms they saw Morales stuff something underneath a table. Detective Allison Novasel said she found 10 grams of heroin and 4 grams of crack cocaine rocks shoved underneath the table top. Morales pleaded innocent Thursday to felony counts of heroin trafficking and cocaine possession, and was held for lack of $100,000 bail. Police also charged Jaquez with an additional felony count of cocaine possession after they found a “Monster Energy” drink can with a hidden compartment containing 110 small bags of heroin.

Maybe he should also be charged with kidnapping. The woman claimed she was held against her will.Hopefully the Judge will throw the book at these maggots and lock them up for decades.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you to the Windham-Windsor Housing Trust for providing low income housing to such wonderful people. They own #1 Wall St. When are they going to step up to the plate and take some responsibility for the tenants they rent to??
ReplyDeleteThese guys don't look that tough: http://www.jerseyboysinfo.com/broadway/
ReplyDeleteI dont care if its because of "LBW" or not ,I am just happy that the SPD is actively stopping this type of criminal activity.
ReplyDeleteThere may be a few people on this blog that will scream profiling.
There may be some that want to say its not the fault of the person who knowingly violates the law because of LBW.
My thought is if it walks like a duck ,quacks like a duck and looks like a duck and acts like a duck........
I know I tweaked some sensitive feelings by using these terms but we all have to agree that we have a problem in town and it isnt because of major MAJORITY of LAW abiding citizens ,its because of the very small MINORITY of NON law abiding citizens.
Good job SPD keep up the pressure on the KNOWN "criminal element" .
The MAJORITY of us tax paying law abiding citizens appreciate your hard work and have nothing to fear from you if we dont commit crimes.
Am I supposed to read between the lines on this post regarding majority and minority?
DeleteMe thinks there is a subtle message here.
