I am glad to see the SPD is catching some criminals.
ReplyDeleteNow if we can get them convicted we will all be better off.
Score one for the good guys.
SPD keep up the good work .

ReplyDeleteForging checks and becoming a dad on the same day...Maybe Chuck was right we should pay people not to have babies.
Corey Betit should have been behind bars a long time ago. He somehow keeps getting off. If they had convicted him the first time he wouldn't have become a father. Just sayin........
DeleteThanks to the liberal court system in Vermont we can continue to see habitual criminals sent back into society while the courts "keep their fingers crossed" that the offender won't re-offend. Just put his butt in jail the first time with a substantial sentence and let him learn that being in an 8X6 cell is not a life to aspire to. We as a society have proven that we prefer to spend our tax payers dollars to insure these offenders are behind bars and away from society than to clean up the carnage they leave in our public society.
DeleteI am not familiar with Corey, however if he is a longtime Springfield resident why didnt Chuck "rescue "him earlier in his life?
ReplyDeleteChuck must have known he was a low weight baby and needed special attention.
Maybe Chuck can get him on a special program and "rehab" him .
Personally I feel time behind bars restricting him from commiting crimes would do him some good.
Then maybe Chuck can have him live with him while he tries to teach him a trade or how to mooch off of the rest of society instead of stealing.
Maybe he can teach him how to be a bleeding heart liberal and really live on the dole.
Fuck all of u I went to rehabe 3 weeks ago an can pass a clean piss test an I did have a kid an he the most wonderfull thing I've ever seen an I gotta job now so get a fuckin life
DeleteIf you do see this Corey, well guess who's back in jail now? You can't seem to keep clean or do any good for your family. A good ten years in prison would be the only thing to help you, but you manage to get out every time but you only manage to stay out for two months before fucking up.
DeleteLol thats bs. Coreys been out over a year now. He just needed to grow up and have a good girl to treat him right and put him in line. Im proud of him
Delete9:10, you could rescue any baby by "rescuing" the woman who's going to get pregnant. All you have to do is convince her to give up smoking, recognize abusive relationships (whether social, familial or marital), trust her feelings about finding a circle of better friends, engage in learning for the joy of it, and looking for love in strong relationships with peers rather than in having a baby. Go for it!
ReplyDeletere: chuck who?
DeleteIt's not our place to interfere with a woman's or mans personal life and personal choices (you notice I use the term "personal").
I'll never know why people or governments always feel a need to interfere with PERSONAL choices people have. Without these personal choices you have no personal freedoms.
I see the above post smoked "Chuck who?" out of bed this morning.
DeleteI am sure he slept the sleep of the "righteous "lefties who want to save the world by blowing fairy dust around and telling others that we can live on love and forgiveness.
I say we go look for the low weight babies whose mothers smoked and take those children away ,put them in foster homes to be raised like Chuck was, we would all be better off.
.
No!
Put the criminals in jail where they belong, after serving time appropriate for the crime then we can send to the "Chuck who?" home to be rehabbed .
Am I crazy?
10:26, why have laws then?
Deletere: 11:24am
DeleteTo insure the criminals are found and justice is done.
11:55/10:24, but aren't laws interfering with PERSONAL choices people have?
Delete12:22 I know you were joking when you asked that question.I hope......
DeleteIf you dont stray from the established laws you have nothing to fear or worry about.
12:22
DeleteI'm not sure if you were joking or a liberal but...
Personal choices which are not against the law yield personal results.
Personal choices which are against the law yield judicial results.
8:02 I am not sure you are joking or a conservative.
DeleteI was simply pointing out that 10:26's comment about the government "interferring with an individual's personal choice" was a bit strange. Based on their argument why does the government need to get in the way of someone's personal choice to murder?
Now, I think 10:26 was arguing that the government shouldn't interfere with an individuals right to pro-create. But, as we have seen before when two people who are not fit to raise a child decide to pro-create then myself, Harry Byrd, and Chuck end up paying for it, so it does effect society.
Chuck (I think it was him) has argued that it may be cheaper to pay women to not have babies. I think this argument has some merit. You see, we (me the independent, Chuck the liberal, and Harry the conservative) end up paying significantly more when a child is born into a bad parental/cultural situation than if we had just decide to give that mom $10,000 to not have the child.
re: 12:22pm
ReplyDeleteNo.
It's not interfering with "personal choices" when you present information that someone else wants to use; it IS interfering when you force them to behave differently. So, imprisonment is interfering, but advertising a soft drink on TV which might cause your weight to bloat is not. Showing someone how he can get his kids to mind him better is not; telling him how they should behave is.
ReplyDeletePutting people in jail to "punish" them is only 15% more effective than giving them a shot to age them for the same amount of time they would spend in jail. Of course, the shot would be cheaper... Prison is a good (but costly) way to keep people from committing another crime, but it is not a good long-term solution, unless you want to impoverish the country. Since some 85% of released prisoners re-offend, the only truly effective punishment would be the death penalty. How many of us would like to see dishonest bankers and lying military recruiters executed along with spouse abusers, car thieves and third-time shoplifters?
Lots of words Chuck but as usual, not substance.

Deletere: Chuck 12:47pm
DeleteWith that kind of logic we can say the government has taken most of our personal choices away via taxation to modify behavior. We could care less how effective prison is for rehabilitation, we care that their being segregated from society which is why prisons were designed (hence the bars and barbed wire).
Looks familiar doesnt it?
