New Grocery and Deli Opens in North Springfield Submitted by admin on Tue, 06/04/2013 - 2:23pm Route 106 N Market and Deli in North Springfield. NORTH SPRINGFIELD, VT - Route 106 N Market and Deli has been open for little over a month. The building that houses the new store is a familiar location that over the years has hosted many varied businesses including a used furniture store, gun shop and most recently a church. The owners of market and deli, Lisa and Bob Brandmeyer, spent six months preparing the building for its current incarnation. Lisa and her husband, Bob, are not new to the grocer business. Before moving to Vermont they owned a grocery and deli for 14 years in Waterbury, Connecticut. Last October, they celebrated 10 years as owners of the Brandmeyer’s Mountainside Lodge on Route 100 in Weston. Their bed and breakfast houses ten guest rooms, is non-smoking and contains the Moose Lounge Restaurant. Currently the restaurant is only open on weekends and reservations are required. The Brandmeyers also provide a catering service through both the Lodge and their new location at the Market and Deli. Lisa says they offer “soup to nuts” catering and have already had three catering jobs through the deli in North Springfield. Over the last month, word has spread throughout North Springfield, Baltimore, Gassetts, and Perkinsville about the new store on Route 106. Lisa Brandmeyer said, “The response has been excellent with new faces coming into the store daily.” She works the counter regularly and has been speaking with customers about what they would like to see the store carry. Customers have shared with her that they are excited to have a store back in the area and have been particularly pleased with the quality of the grinders and sandwiches which are served on Italian bread baked daily at the store. The Route 106 N Market and Deli offers a wide range of products including deli cold cuts and cheeses, fresh meats, Black Angus steaks and burgers, rotisserie chicken, lottery tickets, newspapers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and much more. For your summer camping and grilling needs, the store carries propane tanks and bags of ice as well as large charcoal grills for rental. Open seven days a week, Monday-Saturday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., you can reach them by phone at 802-886-DELI (3354) or visit them online at http://rt106market.com/ for upcoming specials.
surprised the select board gave them the permits they needed, never been there but heard they make awesome grinders and sandwiches, good luck to them.
ReplyDeleteI went there and the first grinder was very good a lot of money. But the second time they put so much mayo on it that the bread was soggy!
ReplyDelete"a lot of money." I'm betting they're just making a very reasonable profit on that grinder. The overhead in this type of business is crazy. Good Luck!!! I'll stop in the next time I go by!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's Springfield, if it isn't on the dollar menu then it is "a lot of money".
DeleteSo far so great. Nice to have something back on the other side of town a bit. I hope they do well. No bad experiences yet.
ReplyDeleteRoute 106 N makes a really good sandwich, the bread they use is very good. Their sandwiches are much better than the old Main Street Market. The price is slightly lower than the deli in town that charges for cheese, and extra type of veggies when you order. Don't get me wrong, Perkins makes a good sandwich as well, and they offer cabbage! Perfect location for the industrial park employees to grab a bite to eat.
ReplyDeleteWOW!...after reading the story I shook my head. WHERE does this couple get all their energy! I'll be checking the store out soon and wish them nothing but the best.
