Springfield town clerk to step down

Meredith Dexter Kelley, the town clerk and treasurer, has resigned effective two days before Christmas.

  2. So will the town be adjusting our taxes since we are going from a $65,000 a year salary to a $53,500 a year salary? The starting salary is $53,000, and let's assume it was $53,000 when Mrs. Dexter Kelley began her role, are you telling me that in 5.5 years she got $11,500 in raises? You know what? I want that job! When can I start and where is my office?

    1. Produce your credentials, pass the Bar exam and you might get that office.

    2. Why would you need to pass a bar exam to be a Town Clerk???? Not a requirement. Quite a salary for a Town Clerk.
