Fellows Building Adds Additional Art Exhibit Space to the Great Hall Submitted by VT Journal on Tue, 12/10/2013 - 11:14am SPRINGFIELD, VT -The Great Hall Public Art Showcase at 100 River Street, Springfield is pleased to announce an additional space for exhibits of smaller art works starting in December. The first show entitled “Art on the River” is located in the hallway just off the Great Hall, leading to the Lunch Box Café. The first show will feature two local painters, Lynn VanNatta, an oil painter and Nancy Lent Lanoue, a watercolor artist. The show runs from Tuesday, December 10, 2013 to April 10, 2014 with an opening reception on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. On Tuesday, December 10 and 17, the public is invited to meet the artists in front of the Lunch Box Café and enjoy a cup of complementary coffee while they browse. VanNatta has resided in West Windsor on Shattuck Hill Road for ten years. She received her BFA from the University of Massachusetts and has studied art with New England artists of the Cape Ann School. VanNatta teaches workshops and classes as well. Lent Lanoue has lived in Springfield for thirteen years and says she is “picking up where she left off” after a 30 year career in adult education and administration. She started out as an art major in college and took up painting again in 1997. She has studied with several professional artists and has participated in several art shows since 2008. Both artists specialize in landscapes, capturing the rural character of the region’s hills, small towns, and farms.
