Published April 15, 2014 in the Rutland Herald Fight over boyfriend turns ugly By ERIC FRANCIS CORRESPONDENT WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Although accounts differ as to who started the actual melee, a fight between two teenage girls landed one in the hospital and one in court. Destiny Blanchard, 19, of Mount Holly, spent the weekend in jail before she entered the White River Junction criminal court Monday afternoon where she pleaded innocent to a felony count of aggravated assault. Springfield Police said Jazmyn Sipe, 19, called them Thursday and said that Blanchard had just shoved her way into Sipe’s home on Orchard Street and severely beaten Sipe following a lengthy round of “phone tag” brought on by a running dispute over an “on-and-off boyfriend.” Springfield Police Officer Craig Watrous said he arrived on Orchard Street to find the “severely emotionally distraught” Sipe with a laceration to her face and another to her hand which was so deep he could see exposed bone. “She was crying, shaking and still appeared to be afraid,” Watrous wrote in an affidavit filed with the court. Sipe and a friend of hers, who provided a sworn witness statement to police, both said Blanchard and Eliza Richey, 20, had been “driving by plenty of times” in a green Honda Accord with a multi-colored hood and making multiple calls to see if Sipe was home. Eventually the pair parked at the end of Sipe’s driveway and Blanchard got out of the car and began banging on the front door, the statement said. Sipe said she didn’t open it at first but then, after picking up a croquet mallet for protection, she said she opened the interior door and yelled through a glass storm door, “Get off my property now.” “All of a sudden Destiny swung open the glass door, charging into my home, charging at me with full fists, throwing me like a rag doll. (She) threw me up against the glass door, threw me back to the ground, smashed my head off my mother’s flower pot,” Sipe wrote. Sipe said that as the fight continued, “Destiny was on top of me kicking, punching, kneeing and scratching me any way she could. I could hear Eliza’s voice next to Destiny saying, ‘Yeah Destiny, kick her, get her.’” “I felt a knee in my stomach, a knee in my head, I felt Destiny’s fingers in my eyeball as she dug out my contact I was wearing. I was on the ground in a fetal position (when) she kicked me one last time and they both stopped (and) ran to Eliza’s car and drove off.” Richey gave a differing account of events to police. She said that Blanchard had asked her for a ride to Sipe’s “so they could talk things out” only to be met at the door by Sipe who was carrying “a wooden bat thing.” Richey said it was Sipe who was yelling at Blanchard that she wanted “to smash her head in.” Richey wrote that Blanchard replied, “Why can’t we be adults about this? Let’s just talk,” when, she said, “Jazmyn starts going crazy, opens the door and swings the bat at Destiny. It hit her in the shoulder and then from there the fight started.” Watrous said glass from the door was still on the porch when he arrived and it appeared to him that Sipe’s head had gone through it “from the inside.” He also noted that “dirt from a flower pot that had been tipped over was scattered on the floor and up over the couch with blood droplets nearby,’’ Watrous said.
Just shows what the youth of today is growing up to be. Sad, and all over a boyfriend? How stupid and immature. I hope there are some consequences to this and these girls learn a lesson.

ReplyDeleteAh yes, someone forgot to teach these girls how to act like ladies. What is wrong with people? I am sure the guy they were fighting over was a real catch too LOL
ReplyDeleteAh reminds me of the days with my grandpappy eating cornpone and swigging moonshine back in ole Kentuck, ah them were the days. Those were real women back then, why you should have seen them line up for the race on Sadie Hawkins day. Yeah them were the days.
ReplyDeleteBlanchard and Richey both need to be thrown in jail for a couple years, maybe it will teacher them how to act like human being's,instead of the animals they are, they both have done some pretty rotten stuff to people in this town and get away with it
