SPRINGFIELD — An unidentified man was rescued from the Black River Tuesday morning and transported to Springfield Hospital after spending roughly 90 minutes in the choppy waters. Emergency teams pulled the man, whose name was not released, from the river around 9 a.m. after he had been clinging to a large rock near the Comtu Falls. When crews arrived on scene, he was shoulder-deep in the river before climbing onto the rock to wait for a rescue boat. The man was taken via ambulance to nearby Springfield Hospital. A full story will appear in Wednesday's Eagle Times.
