A 22-year-old woman from Holyoke, Mass., is facing federal charges after law enforcement says she admitted to Vermont Drug Task Force agents that she sold 6,000 to 8,000 bags of heroin in the Vermont since November.
Seanna Krasin entered no plea during an initial appearance Friday in U.S. District Court in Burlington before Magistrate John Conroy, who agreed to release her on conditions pending an April 25 arraignment on heroin-distribution charges.
According to a Vermont State Police affidavit filed with the court, Krasin was the target of a heroin-distribution investigation in Orleans County that the Vermont Drug Task Force began earlier this month.
Krasin was arrested Thursday after selling 800 bags of heroin to an informant codenamed “Blue” at a parking lot in the Vermont town of Springfield in a transaction monitored by police, the affidavit stated.
The transaction came three days after the same informant purchased 250 bags of heroin from Krasin at the same location, the authorities said. That sale also was monitored by police.
“I observed the bags to be stamped with the image of a cell phone with the word ‘Blackberry’ on each bag,” a state police trooper wrote in the affidavit.
Krasin, traveling in a car with two men, was pulled over by police shortly after the second transaction. During questioning by investigators, she admitted she had been bringing heroin to Vermont since November, the authorities said.
“She has traveled to Vermont to sell heroin to two customers, including Blue,” the affidavit stated, recounting what she told police. “During that time she sold a total of approximately 60-80 stacks, or 6-8 thousand bags of heroin to those two customers.”
