Published May 28, 2014 in the Rutland Herald Man faces assault on officer, slew of charges By ERIC FRANCIS CORRESPONDENT WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A Springfield man spent the holiday weekend in jail following a domestic fight that also involved allegedly kicking a police officer. William Plaster Jr., 31, pleaded innocent Tuesday to misdemeanor counts of domestic assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and simple assault on a law enforcement officer. He was released on conditions from White River Junction criminal court. Springfield Police Cpl. Michael Gilderdale said he and Lt. Mark Fountain responded to Wall Street shortly before 6 a.m. Friday for a report of “a female being thrown around by her boyfriend.” Gilderdale said neighbors described being awakened by screaming and “things crashing around” in Plaster’s apartment. Neighbor Jeffery Wyman said when he went to check on Plaster’s girlfriend, Plaster became enraged and shoved him so hard “it just about gave me whiplash.” After speaking to the girlfriend, Gilderdale said he tried to talk to Plaster. The officer said Plaster ran upstairs and started to slam the door, stopping when he saw Gilderdale pointing a Taser at him. After a brief struggle, police said, they handcuffed Plaster. Gilderdale said Plaster tried to kick him, but he partially avoided it. “I was in fear that my knee was going to be blown out from the forcible strike being delivered by a 325-pound man,” the officer wrote. Gilderdale said his shoulder was injured as the two officers shoved Plaster into the cruiser, where the suspect “began to forcibly smash his head off the rear of the cage partition, causing his head to split open and blood to spatter.” Plaster appeared in court Tuesday in heavy chains with a bandage on his forehead.
Apple don't fall to far from the tree here. Don't allow this clown to create more victims. Keep him locked up!
ReplyDeleteOur wonderful justice system at work again; it is outrageous that this individual could have been "released on conditions". I sometimes wonder why the cops keep showing up for work every day. This action shows nothing but utter contempt for the safety and well being of our police officers.

ReplyDeleteAny rational person would agree. But as mentioned before, Judge Karen Carroll was confirmed by Windsor County Senator Alice Nitka. Springfield overwhelmingly voted for Nitka in 2012 election. So my friend, you have the government you deserve.
In Singapore he would be caned for this type of behavior. A few good smacks with the rattan would straighten him out.
ReplyDeleteIn Singapore they cane people who behave like this man. A few good whacks with the rattan would straighten him out.
ReplyDeleteSo when will voters wake up and toss the progressive, liberal left-wing politicians who have created and continued to enable this insanity???
ReplyDeleteSadly, probably never...
