Recent incidents and arrests as logged by the Springfield Police Department.

Fourth Degree Arson

Male Juvenile
AGE: 16
Springfield Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 5-27-2014 the Springfield Fire Department was called to the Springfield High School for a report of smoke in a downstairs bathroom. On arrival the location of the smoke was located and ventilated. A burnt paper towel was located in a trash can. The investigation determined that a 16 year old Juvenile had allegedly gone into the bathroom and lit a paper towel on fire. The juvenile then allegedly extinguished the fire and exited the bathroom. The juvenile was identified and charged with Fourth Degree Arson

The juvenile has been cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on July 22, 2014

DUI

Aaron Mahaffy
AGE: 24
Acworth, NH

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: After a motor vehicle stop, Aaron Mahaffy was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol. Subject was issued a citation to appear in Windsor Court and Lodged at SSCF in lieu of $250.00 bail

Aggravated Assault

Abagail Wood

Chester VT

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 05/22/2014 the Springfield PD took a report of a fight that occurred earlier in the day in North Springfield. After an investigation, Abagail Wood was arrested in Chester by members of the Springfield and Chester Police
Departments. She was taken into custody without incident for an alleged assault. Wood was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on this Date, May 23rd to answer to the allegations.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: Bundy allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend. Bundy was cited to appear in court on May 9th to answer to the allegations.
