Update: Shooting Incident in Springfield

The Vermont State Police continue to investigate the shooting incident in Springfield, VT tonight. Law enforcement officials have two suspects in custody and are questioning a third person of interest. Charges will be forthcoming.

Update: Shooting Incident in Springfield, VT

Springfield, VT - 6/11/14 - The Vermont State Police continue to investigate the shooting incident in Springfield, VT tonight. Law enforcement officials have two suspects in custody and are questioning a third person of interest. Charges will be forthcoming.

At this time, there is no threat to public safety, as a result of this incident.

To clarify, three individuals are receiving medical treatment: one for a gunshot wound; and two other for non-life threatening injuries, which were not gunshot wounds. At the time of this release, current medical status of each patient is unknown.

Initial investigations indicate that the subjects involved were known to one another. It is believed that a confrontation occurred prior to the shooting near and within the residence at Summer Street in Springfield, VT.

No other details are available at this time, as this is an active and on-going investigation. We will release the identity of the suspects and victims as soon as possible, pursuant to the needs of the investigation. When updates are available, a press release will be issued.

Shooting Incident in Springfield, VT

Springfield, VT - 6/11/14 - The Vermont State Police received a call at approximately 3:35PM from the Springfield Police Department requesting assistance with a shooting incident at 47 Summer Street in Springfield, VT. Troopers with the Vermont State Police and detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded immediately to assist in the investigation. At approximately 5:30PM the Springfield Police requested the Vermont State Police to assume investigative responsibility for the incident.

Initial reports indicate that three subjects were shot and injured at the residence on Summer Street in Springfield. Two patients were transported to Springfield Hospital and one to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center; all to receive medical treatment. At the time of this release, current medical status of each patient is unknown.

Initial investigations indicate that the subjects involved were known to one another. One suspect is in custody. And law enforcement officials are looking to locate other persons of interest in this case. More details to follow, as needed.

No other details are available at this time, as this is an active and on-going investigation. When updates are available, a press release will be issued.

  1. Gee I dunno,Do you think drugs were involved? Maybe the PD doesn't even have to get involved, just let them eliminate each other. Alot less expense.
