Aviation Camp at Hartness Airport

Last chance to sign up kids for Aviation Career Education ("ACE") Camp, a week-long day camp starting next Monday filled with exciting and educational aviation oriented activities.

Hartness State Airport,  North Springfield, VT July 14 to 18

Aviation Career Education ("ACE") Camp gives boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 15 a week-long day camp filled with exciting and educational aviation oriented activities. Professional, Military, and Civilian experts introduce participants to a wide variety of aviation careers. We explore aerodynamics and principles of flight, teamwork, flight safety, as well as building and launching model rockets.

Weather permitting, and with the consent of a parent or guardian, flights in airplanes, helicopters, and gliders are provided. Also scheduled are visits by the classic P-51 Mustang "Old Crow", a Cessna CJ-3 executive jet, and one of the US Air Force/National Science Foundation C-130 transport aircraft that ferries supplies to the South Pole. In past years' ACE Camps, participants have taken flights in many of these different aircraft.

Participation is limited and only a few slots remain. Tuition is $325 for the five day ACE Camp. For more information contact Walter Striedieck at 802-460-3686, Roberta Haskin at 802-223-4014, Ryan Ollis at 802-272-1675, or online at http://aviation.vermont.gov/about_us/education/ace_camps
