Reporting bald male black shirt backpack on backwards trying to get into cars at foot of Factory St - While the officer did not locate the described subject on Factory Street, as they traveled East on Main Street a subject matching the description was seen in the area of the Town Hall. The officer stopped and identified him and the subject consented to a
search of his person and his backpack. The officer located a glass hammer which is commonly carried in a vehicle in the event the vehicle goes under water of the door is jammed shut. The glass hammer can be used in this instance to shatter the window to escape. The male claimed to have found it in a dumpster in Brattleboro. The item was confiscated and the male subject was released and told to return to Brattleboro. The Hammer was disposed of at the Springfield Police Department.

Report of about 10 guys many with no shirts on all white late 20 early 30s in pushing shoving yelling dispute Factory St lot. No one was in the area upon arrival of the officer who was then directed to respond to the PD to speak with a male subject who was claiming to have been assaulted in the reported altercation. The male filed a sworn written statement alleging that another male punched him in the back of the head. The dispute was said to be over the second male yelling out a window at a female who was with the assaulted party. Officers spoke with witnesses and the alleged offender. Due to varying accounts from witnesses and the accused of what actually transpired, this case will be forwarded to the State's attorney's office as a referral.

were speaking with one of the current residents. They denied having gone into the apartment. The officer subsequently found the front door to the apartment unsecure, no one was inside. Due to the anonymous nature of this call, this case is closed as the officer can't issue a
citation without a cooperative witness.

The apartment was being lit by candles, despite the large amount of paper clutter in the apartment. The male advised that he was going to retaliate by complaining about everyone else's noise. Later in the evening, he complained about noise coming from one of the other apartments.

Hearing voices outside all night someone just tried to kick in the bottom door not sure where they are now – Complainants stated that a group of individuals have been harassing them by yelling in the woods and throwing rocks at the residence from the woods. One resident stated that as officers arrived she heard a vehicle leave the Riverside middle school at a high rate of speed. There were no signs of attempted forced entry at the residence. The garage was also checked and showed no signs of tampering. At this time no offenders can be identified. Residents advised to call if this were to continue.

On arrival officers made contact with the victim who stated that he was riding his bike on Union Street when an individual jumped out from the bushes and hit him in the back of the head. He stated that approximately 4 other individuals then came out and started kicking him while he was on the ground and that he has no idea who the individuals were. The victim stated that he had no warning of the attack because he was wearing his headphones. This case will remain active pending information that leads to identifying the offenders.

As an officer was arriving in the area on another matter, he could hear loud music was coming from a vehicle parked in the area. The officer
drove alongside the passenger side of this vehicle and observed one
woman in the driver seat and one in the passenger seat. No other persons were in the vehicle. The officer could smell the odor of burning marijuana and could see a bluish haze coming from the vehicle.
The two women did not notice that the officer was parked next to them in a fully marked police car wearing a police uniform looking at them. Eventually, after watching the woman in the driver seat take two hits off of the pipe she looked over and he could see her say "oh ****". The female subjects were identified and VCVC's for small marijuana both females were in possession of were issued.

identified as XXXX & XXXX were making her feel uncomfortable and not leaving her alone. The officer gave the female a ride back to her residence and returned to speak with the 2 males. He explained to the boys that they were making her feel uncomfortable and that their advances were unwanted. The boys stated that their comments were taken out of context and they didn't mean any harm. Both were warned about their behavior.

Two children in car seats have been in the car for at least 15 minuets with no adult around. Although the vehicle was gone upon arrival of the officer, the plate to the vehicle was provided and followup with the registered owner was made. The parent did admit to leaving her two kids, in the car and was only gone 10 minutes and also advised that she cracked the windows so the car would have air flowing through it. As the officer was speaking with the parent, the two kids in question were playing in the back yard and could be heard yelling at each other in a playful fashion. The parent was advised that in the future she should not leave her kids alone in the car, as it could lead to her kids being taken away from her if something bad happened to them. I also advised her that due to the temperatures involved, it was not safe to leave them in the car. A call to the DCF hotline was made reporting the above incident to a case worker.
