ROCKINGHAM — A Springfield, Vermont woman was pinned under her vehicle on Tuesday, Dec. 23 in a single car accident on I-91 that left with her non-life-threatening injuries. Police say they found Stacey Olmstead, 42, pinned under her car just after 8 p.m. According to a news release, the car left the road, ejecting Olmstead from the rear window of the vehicle. It then overturned, coming to a rest on top of her hip, entrapping her beneath the vehicle. A heavy tow truck from Hillside Auto out of Springfield was called in to lift the vehicle off of Olmstead. Golden Cross Ambulance initially brought her to the ER at Springfield Hospital but she was later transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. A male passenger in the car sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention. Police say speed was a factor and the investigation is ongoing to determine additional factors. It is unknown if Olmstead was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
