Domestic Assault

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 2-14-2015 Officers were called for a report of a dispute in the Peoples Bank Parking lot. After a brief investigation both parties in the dispute were arrested for allegedly hitting each other during the altercation.

Both parties were issued citations to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on 2-17-2015



2nd Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault

Gregory Welch
AGE: 49
Springfield, Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: Welch allegedly assaulted a household member and acted in a manner that caused household members to fear being assaulted. Lodged at : Southern State Correctional Facility-Springfield $1,000 / Hold Until Sober

Arraigned in Windsor County Criminal 02/17/15



January 28, 2015
Simple Assault
Interference with Access to Emergency Services.

James Richard Shields
AGE: 38
Chester, Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 01/28/2015 at approximately 1306 hours dispatch was notified of an assault in progress at 197 Clinton Street, The Irving gas station next to the Springfield Police Department. Officers responded to the business. Upon arrival a man reported that his ex-girlfriend's father, James Shields allegedly punched, and choked him, allegedly stole his cellular phone so he could not call police.

Shields was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on 03/24/2015 to answer to the charges.



Arrest on Warrant

John Kinton
AGE: 51 North Springfield Vermont

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 2-16-2015 Officers assisted the Springfield Ambulance with a medical call in North Springfield. While on scene it was discovered that the defendant had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for a assigned court date. The defendant was taken into custody without incident and lodged at SSCF.

BAIL: 500.00
