SUMMARY OF CRASH:
On 5/9/2015 Troopers from the Rockingham responded to a tractor trailer roll over at mile marker 46 northbound in the town of Springfield. When Troopers arrived on scene they could see the operator, Edward Nichols, was trapped underneath the steering wheel inside of the vehicle. Troopers also discovered that the vehicle was hauling approximately 7,000 gallons of milk and most of it had spilled out of the vehicle when the hatches broke open when the vehicle crashed.
The operator was extracted from the vehicle and did not appear to suffer any serious injuries although he was transported to Springfield Hospital as a precaution.
Several different agencies responded to the scene to assist, including Springfield Police Department, Springfield Fire and Rescue, Ascutney Fire Department, Hillside Auto Towing and Recovery, Agency of Natural Resources, and Hazmat.
