  1. I think this guy is not what he says he is. He purchased the Odd Fellows building with promises to renovate and fill the space and he has done nothing. Seems like he is just buys property cheap looking to make some money.... I hope I'm wrong..... I'd like to see him do what he says....

  2. I dunno, The Fellows complex looks 100% better than it did previously, and is now an asset to the town. A pile of money was spent and Springfield hospital is using a large portion which looks awesome. The gallery is a nice addition to the complex and I understand a brewery is planned. If the economy and the State of Vermont is keeping this place from being filled that's not his fault. I say keep doing what you are doing.

    1. The odd fellows building is the newly painted one downtown NOT the Fellow Gear Shaper or 100 River Street. I am concerned because this is not the guy who renovated 100 River Street, this guy has done nothing to the ODD fellows building downtown so I fear he will do nothing with East School.....

    2. The Fellows complex and the Odd Fellows building are two distinctly different entities. Darrell Lee bought the Odd Fellows building and he has nothing to do with the Fellows complex.

      Try to keep up.

  4. Really? This guys has owned the building for all of six months! I would expect that he is still assessing what needs to be done and meeting with contractors and architects. Give him time!

  5. Sorry for the delay in the renovations of the Odd Fellows building. This delay was caused by circumstances beyond my control. I entered a contract to buy a property to move to Springfield and the Seller could not deliver clear title or I had to cancel the deal and find a new home which I did and this Seller/bank could not close on time and ended closing over 60 days from the date of the purchase contract. I felt I needed to be in town before I started renovations and my last moving just arrived today to my new house.

I've ordered the $13k sprinkler work to be done. The back wall... I'm still trying to find a reasonable way to renovate the back wall. So far, the cost of scaffolding quotes I've gotten are insane with the lowest so far being about $10k.

I've repaired the roof and I'm renovating the windows and have found an excellent window guy. The state historical and preservation dept. wanted me to renovate the windows and offers tax credit incentives making it affordable to renovate vs replacing with vinyl replacement windows.

    Yes, give me some time...

  6. As far as the East School, yes I'd love to buy it and renovate it and get it back into service, but I think we are too far apart to come to an agreement at this time.
