SPRINGFIELD — Vermont paranormal investigator Steven Waldo will treat guests to all the tricks of his trade during a special Halloween talk on ghost hunting Wednesday at the Springfield Senior Center.

The center's Halloween Party starts at 1 p.m., followed by a talk and demonstration of paranormal equipment and ghost evidence by Waldo, technical manager for Vermont Paranormal Investigators.

Waldo, a retired police chief and state police investigator, will discuss what it's really like hunting and researching ghosts, said Terri L. Emerson, senior center director.

"Normally, we have a dance or we have a luncheon. This is totally different," said Emerson. "This goes with Halloween."

The event will also feature a costume contest and games. Prizes will be given for the scariest and funniest costumes.

Guests are encouraged to show up in costume at the center located at 139 Main St.
