The Yellow Jackets, who also use Springfield Bowl as a home site, hosted the event. With each individual rolling two games to start the day, the Jackets racked up a 1,675 total while Springfield shot 1,559 and Brattleboro an 1,139. That gave Windsor the No. 1 seed for the Baker System rounds (multiple bowlers from each team count toward scoring in a single game) and a bye into the finals while the Cosmos faced Brattleboro. Springfield swept Brattleboro 164-130 and 170-98, then defeated Windsor 183-154 and 183-169. Alex Richardson led the Cosmos with games of 172 and 168, giving him a two-game 340 series. Also competing for Springfield were Haley St. Louis with 149-150; Matt Power with 158-161; Heather Morse — ALEX RICHARDSON — — ALEX RICHARDSON — with 117-162; and Brenden Willey with 163-159. Windsor's Katey Comstock, who earlier in the day won an indoor track and field shot put event, remained atop the state standings by rolling games of 213 and 236, bringing her state-leading average up to 219. Comstock rebounded from an open frame to roll six consecutive strikes on the way to the 236. The Yellow Jackets' Tristan McMullen continued to be consistent with games of 169 and 193, Devon Campney rolled 181 and 126 and Brandyn Labarron added 138 and 166. On Saturday, Springfield will host Oxbow and South Royalton at noon while Windsor heads north to Essex for a 9:30 a.m. match.
