Chamber will celebrate 100th
SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its founding 100 years ago today with a gala dinner, dancing and the naming of the citizen and organization of the year.
The business group will hold its annual meeting at The Great Hall at One Hundred River Street, said Caitlin Christiana, executive director.
The dinner will include a cocktail hour and a catered dinner, with a business meeting to mark the 100th anniversary and the naming of the citizen of the year.
The celebration will include a silent auction, a photo booth, and live music and dancing.
Christiana said that to mark the milestone, the chamber is partnering with Springfield Art and Historical Society to create some special displays that will offer a glimpse of the town’s past.
