Project ACTION seeks nonprofit status

Project ACTION is going formal. “Formal,” as in applying for federal nonprofit tax status, so it can act as the fiscal agent for Springfield’s neighborhood associations, and act in other ways to help battle the crime and drug addiction affecting the town’s residents.

  1. No surprise here...tax free status and will soon be looking for taxpayer dollars to fund it. If you look at who is running this its the same people, for the most part, that allowed the town to descend into the abyss. If you run a town into the ground dependent on dole industries, you attract people that flourish on being dependent on dole monies and drugs. If you want to fix the town you need to fire those that have destroyed the town and who will continue to do so.

  2. Be very wary of this. Neighborhood Associations should be autonomous, and not subject to outside influences. If you give ANY of these people ANY influence, or take ANY of their money, you'll be dancing to their tune, real quick. Do you really believe that they'll kick the druggies out? Or is it more likely they'll force you to let them stay, while they bleed the system with their useless drug and mental health treatment!!
