Springfield athletic director coaches Woodstock team

The athletic director for Springfield schools is wearing two hats and the Springfield School Board is unhappy about one of them.

  1. Seen numerous comments on FB. Some say he needs to make ends meet defending his behavior. Well 44,000 for 185 work days plus benefits sounds pretty good considering he isn't even in a classroom. Although his behavior doesn't violate his contract, it is very disheartening to players, parents and fans.

  2. Exactly. I'm glad his contract was written that he couldn't work at the school he is an a.d at but any other school was apparently just fine. I don't have an issue with him having a 2nd job BUT to coach a team that competes against your first job is a huge conflict of interest. Should b interesting when girls varsity basketball plays woodstock. Should setup a fan bus from springfield to go up and boo him out of the building....I'm guessing the Woodstock parents/fans would help out

  3. I saw him as a baseball coach here in Springfield, I'm glad he's not coaching our kids. He's terrible.
Morally I don't like that he is coaching a rival team. As the AD he is supposed to be at our games to help set up and make sure that everything is going well. How can he do that from Woodstock?
Yes, I'm commenting as anonymous...it's only because I'm afraid of the school board and Tim taking it out on my son.

  4. If he enjoys coaching kids so much and is willing to travel between Woodstock, Hartland and Springfield everyday where was he to step up and coach the boys varsity team this past Fall when they didn't have a coach at all even into pre-season? The article said he needs Superintendent approval, I wonder if he bothered to ask or maybe he was too busy hanging out with Woodstock's Field Hockey team and his new favorite student-athletes???? He got bailed out by some nice parents willing to step-up. Figure it out dude. To all saying he may need to supplement his income and that's why he took the job... c'mon.. the 3K he is going to make will get eaten up by gas going between all 3 towns anyway, let's not forget about the huge time commitment, you don't coach for extra money. I may apply for this job when he gets canned now that I think about it... $44K for 180 days of just excruciatingly hard work (very sarcastic) and you don't technically have to show up for anything just coach at another school and hang out with your Fiance all day... sign me up!

  5. Coaching a team out of Springfield may not be forbidden by his contract, but it is CLEARLY a conflict of interest. This is a team that the Cosmos play! How does THAT work?

I have no problem with him having a second job, but get one that does not conflict with the duties of AD.

From what I heard, the field hockey team saw his true colors. They are green, but not Cosmos green.
