  1. This group is only worried about the uncertainty in Washington, because it's not who they wanted in the White House. We'll we just got done with 8 years of free hand outs and higher taxes, increase in the deficit like never seen before. Give this administration time to straighten out all that mess, deport illegals so we do have to take care of them without their taxes being paid.
Give them some time, the mess left behind was large 21 Trillion dollars, let worry about not leaving that to our grandchildren and not people who are not suppose to be here anyway just adding to the deficit!

  2. I agree with your first sentence, but the vast majority of the national debt is due to two factors: 1. Medicare and Social Security liability and 2. major tax cuts in the 1980s and early 2000s. (The financial crisis of 2008/09 and the resulting bailout and debt evaluation exacerbated the problem) The real issue is that spending is up and tax revenue is way down. Undocumented immigrants are the least of our worries, if anything one could argue that immigrants are a benefit to debt relief since a large percentage of undocumented workers pay taxes but do not receive benefits such as Social Security or Medicare. Hypothetically - just granting amnesty to a large section of the undocumented would be more cost effective than deporting them all. Then again that would mean brown people that old white people are afraid of might have access to the tattered remains of the American Dream.

    1. Really? It couldn't be that we spend four times any other country on Defense contractors, and fight unfunded wars?

    2. Of course! You're completely right in pointing out that military spending, especially private sector contracting, is completely out of whack compared to the rest of the world. But that spending is discretionary - we could chip away at military spending, stem the role of the industrial military complex, and make smarter (and more ethical) military decisions all to decrease the budget and eventually the debt - by law we must fund healthcare and social security, which makes up nearly 2/3rds of the federal budget. The new budget is myopic, based on unfounded fear and plays into the hand of capital - I'm just pointing out that one could argue that immigration is the least of our worries.

    3. What about Government Employee Pensions they are out of control, and the majority of us everyday tax payers don't have one?

Or, maybe it's because for first time in American history, there is an ongoing FBI investigation into the President's involvement with an enemy foreign government! That's "uncertainty" on steroids!
