School starts this week


The Springfield School District honored some of their longest serving staff last week.

In the picture above, from left to right: Zach McLaughlin, Superintendent; Karen Peck, Union Street Teacher (44 years); Judi Priestley, Guidance Clerk (30 years); Lori Darrell, Life Skills Paraeducator Riverside (30 years); Robin Nunes, Paraeducator (25 years); Mina Turner, Reading Specialist Elm Hill (25 years); PollyAnna Baldyka, Life Skills Teacher Riverside (25 years); Ruth Rawson, Union Street Clerk (45 years), Tim Bixby, Maintenance Foreman & Plant Supervisor (40 years), and Mike Janiszyn High School English Teacher (40 years)! Not pictured is Polly Magwire---who hit 50 years! Thank you to all these dedicated public servants for Springfield!!



2017-2018 School Calendar 

There are staggered dates for the start of this school year:

Kindergarten starts Thursday, August 31st

Grades 1 through 9 start Wednesday, August 30th

Grades 10 through 12 start Thursday, August 31st

School bus routes



The Springfield School District, represented by School Superintendent Zach McLaughlin, welcomed a bunch of new teachers in early August. They attended a 7 day orientation to help them settle in and get prepared for the start of school,  now only hours away.
