2017-09-09 / Community Springfield Senior Center news By Heather Hall, Executive Director The senior center has left town for their cruise to Bermuda. The director is escorting the cruise but, the senior center will remain open for its regular hours. Ceramics Class starts Monday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. If you’re interested in joining the class, please stop in to speak with the instructor, Cathy. The start-up fee for the class is $15 — this includes all items that you will need to be successful. After the start-up fee, each class you attend is $3.50 per person. On Wednesday, Sept. 13, the Springfield Senior Center will be hosting Nickel Bingo with Roger Newhall. September birthdays will also be celebrated with Dale O’Brien. These activities will be starting at 1 p.m. Both floor and chair yoga will be starting back the week of Sept. 18. Floor Yoga will be at 10 a.m. Mondays and 8 a.m. Thursdays. Chair yoga will be at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Interested in taking a day trip with the Springfield Senior Center? We have one day trip left for this year with spots open. Join us for "The Corvettes Doo Wop Revue: Cruise with the Springfield Roadrunners," on Thursday, Nov. 9, down to Wrentham, Massachusetts to enjoy the Premier National Touring Doo Wop Show. Noted as an “incredibly entertaining show and comical stage antics,” this show is sure to leave us all wanting more. Lunch is included in the price of this trip. The price of the trip for ACTIVE MEMBERS is $89 per person and the price of the trip for NON-ACTIVE MEMBERS is $101 per person.
