Sophomore Cadence Wheeler improved on his showing from last year. Seniors Jenna Knight, Sofia Gulick, Mason Olney, and 9th grader Anna Ondre, tackled this challenge for the first time, and logged some impressive performances.” Fog also singled out the performance of Mason Olney. He said, “He came out for track and field for the first time as a senior, and asked to do the Decathlon so he could train for the Marines. He hit personal records in 110 hurdles, 100m, Shot Put, High Jump, Long Jump, and 1500m to finish 26th out of 82 of the finest athletes in Vermont.” At the Decathlon, Olney got to meet the event’s founder, Jerry Jasinski, who is a Marine. Jasinski shared insight about athletics, the Corps, and character with Olney.
