The Vermont State Police have arrested and held a Springfield man who failed to appear in court on Thursday, June 28 after being arrested on Wednesday. The Vermont State Police arrested Matthew Cook, 35, of Springfield at approximately 5:50 p.m. on June 28 on Charlestown Road in Springfield, on an active arrest warrant for failing to appear in Windham County court that same day. Cook had been arrested on Wednesday on an extraditable felony arrest warrant, all according to the VSP. Bail was set on Thursday at $75,000. Cook was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility, where he will be scheduled to appear on July 2 at Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division.
Way to go Vermont judicial system. At least it's keeping the police busy. Thank God for them.
