  2. Who said there were no businesses downtown? Seems like there are quite a few. I've never heard of many of them, maybe better advertising or bigger signs are in order!

  3. So what businesses will be involved? Service organizations?

    1. Yeah, damned outsiders coming here and spending money. Don't they know we love poverty here?

    2. no we love junkies non profiteers and grant money. so yeah i guess we love poverty.

    3. Yeah, damned non-profits! Don't they know that people are created to be exploited for money? Lousy junkies, why don't they destroy their lives with alcohol, like REAL Americans! Shift key? What the hell is that?

    4. hey when they start paying their fair share meaning property taxes so i dont have to subsidize them or their bs i'll stop complaining. till then i have every right to complain. vermont the capital of not for profits. 6000 registered in the state. the most per capita of anywhere in america.1 for every 1000 vermonters.

    5. 4:10, without people like you, they probably wouldn't NEED to exist! If Vermont sucks that much for you, try on of those nice, friendly conservative states. You know, the ones with low wages, low standards of living, lousy healthcare, and "fees" instead of taxes. You think it's bad here? HA! You'll be BEGGING those non-profits to save your butt, because no one else will!

    6. lol. really all these leaches on my wallet. a art gym for gs. we should have the smartest kids in the world coming out of that parent child center.my favorite is being hcrs outpatient mental hospital. srdc destroying turn key buildings and now is working for windsor county on our dime. your crew figured out how to abuse the non profit sector for their own benefit. dont worry as soon as the housing market rebounds here we are gone. good luck

    7. Turn key buildings? HA! You'll need a tetanus shot just looking at them! Turn the key on the bulldozer, and knock the rest of them down! From my experience, it's conservative contractors who abuse the non-profit sector. It's VERY profitable for them! Hope you find a state that suits your politics. You'll get everything you deserve. We'll see you back here in five years!

    8. you havent been here very long have you. when they were given the buildings the companies had just closed. it was their lack of maintenance that has caused the deterioration of the facility. the first tennant was a wood working company. it filled the engineering department of j&l. so do some research and you'll find a trail that leads all the way to the largest eb5 scandal ever over seen by 1 of the former heads. you dont seem to have much experience outside of your little click. good day

    9. I know this much, you conservatives ALWAYS blame Democrats and Unions for the problems caused by bad management and corporate greed. The company owners, instead of modernizing and maintaining their factories, sold out to large corporations, who took the brand names and product lines to other towns. They built NEW factories, surrounded by well-maintained infrastructure, and large skilled labor pools. I watched them build the Fellows Gear plant in Rockford, Il. It's modern, and has access to a regional airport, rail lines, and the interstate! How's that for experience? They left their isolated, run-down, 100-year-old toxic messes for the taxpayers of Springfield to clean up. Nice people, weren't they? And not a Liberal in the bunch!

The roof of the Bryant building needed work pretty much every year, at least while I worked there from 1974 on. That stopped when Goldman bought it, and throughout the building people had to deal with leaks and lights shorting out. After the Bryant operation was moved to North Springfield all maintenance on the old building stopped, and decay proceeded quickly. Over a year later some other employees and I were sent there to try and locate old records; there was no power in most of the building, and in the offices the ceilings had fallen in. Goldman still owned it. I don't think the town or outside agencies were responsible for the spoiling of that building.

11:36, I don't know what EB5 connection you mean, but it must be someone mentioned in this:

      https://vtdigger.org/2018/07/09/federal-agency-terminates-vermont-eb-5-regional-center/

Could you clarify? It seems a stretch to connect that situation with the shop properties in town.

    1. Gee, with all the negative CONSERVATIVE comments, you'd think they were trying to discourage attendance at downtown events! You people always try to twist reality to fit your ideology, is this part of the PLAN, maybe?

Forty-one point three percent of Springfield voters voted for Agent Orange. One hundred percent of them comment here. How might I tell which ones they are?

    1. That's easy, Chuck! They'll bad-mouth any positive change, especially if it's tax-funded. They always gripe about taxes and government, and blame every problem on Unions, racial minorities, immigrants, and Liberals in general. They claim to be the final authority on everything, but are nearly always wrong. They lie pathologically. When they lose an argumemt, they always resort to cheap insults. Dog whistle or bullhorn, they're pretty easy to spot, once you know their tactics!

    2. You want to talk about whistles and bullhorns there dopey 1:56, well go watch your fellow moon bats threaten and ASSAULT the poor young woman and her friend who were eating breakfast in Brooklyn this weekend......all for free speech calling out a racist NY Times
appointee. And how about TODAY.....violent assaults committed by your ANTIFA ALT LEFT pals upon a group peacefully marching. Go look at the arrest records clown-boy.....ALL SWAMPY RIGHTIES!!!!!

      Delete
    3. correction: LEFTIES.....March was in Washington, DC today. All videos readily available on news and YOUTUBE! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!!!!!

      Delete
    4. Exactly 7:10, while the conservatives call-out the racists, the liberals DEFEND them. Liberals have only one use for minorities, THEIR VOTES! The tide has turned and minorities in this country have realized that Democrat liberals have done NOTHING for them and they won't be played anymore!!!!!

    5. I rest my case.
