Man charged with selling fentanyl-laced heroin

A Putney resident who was out on pre-trial conditions while awaiting the resolution of kidnapping and extortion charges that were filed against him last year has now been charged with selling fentanyl-laced heroin to a police informant in Springfield back in May.

Thanks to NewsBank, its Chester Conference Center on Saturday, March 17 was once again filled with young engineers who created some fabulous entries in the seventh annual LEGO Contest, sponsored by St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Thirty exhibitors in grades Pre-K through Seventh came from 11 towns in Vermont and two in New Hampshire.

The Southeast 4-H Horse Hippology and Quiz Bowl Contest, held Feb. 10 in Springfield, provided an opportunity for 4-H’ers to match wits on several equine topics, among them, breeds and their origins, anatomy, feeds and nutrition, horsemanship and blankets, wraps and other “clothes” for horses.

PCH Prize Patrol guy Howie Guja didn't find Springfield resident Joanna Rothluebber at home Tuesday but managed to track her down at work where she was able to deposit her $10,000 immediately - she's a bank teller.

The 65th Annual Springfield Vermont Rotary Club Penny Sale is coming up at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Riverside Middle School in Springfield. As always, there will be more than 300 prizes available with values over $500 and many in the $25 to $50 range.
