Four people have filed nominating petitions for the three-year seat on the School Board currently held by Marilyn Thompson.
Town Clerk Meredith Kelly revealed January 28 that they are Thompson, former board chairman Jim Ball, Tammy Farmer and Joseph "Bill" Harbeson.
Harbeson is a 1994 graduate of Springfield High School. He is employed by VTel as a Network Computing Coordinator.
Tammy Farmer was born and raised in Texas, moving to Vermont with her husband and three children in 2007. She is a licensed insurance agent employed by Finn & Stone and became a member of the school Budget Advisory Board last fall. She also coaches girls' basketball and is active in the Precision Valley Baptist Church where she serves as youth director. She sings in the Middle River Gospel group.
Two Select Board positions were also up for grabs this year but no one filed before last week's deadline to run against current seat holders Kristi Morris and Michael Knoras.
