Two SSCF inmates charged in identical incidents

Two inmates at the state prison in Springfield have been charged with assault for incidents that occured way back in November in which each were said to have thrown a cup of urine at different prison guards.

Scott Clark, 30, has been issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Court to answer to the crime of Assault of a Correctional Officer on May 20, 2011.

At the time of the incident, the correctional officer involved was at work in the Restrictive Housing Unit of the Southern State Correctional Facility. While collecting a meal tray from the inmate through a food chute, the officer says Clark threw a cup of urine at him, striking him on the left leg thigh.

Mark Bergeron, 21, also was just issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Court to answer to the crime of Assault of a Correctional Officer on May 20, 2011. He is said to also thrown a cup of urine at another prison guard collecting meal trays the same night, November 29, 2010, striking the officer on the right thigh.
