CRV Stingrays thank the community
To the Editor:
The CRV Stingrays would like to thank the community of Springfield and neighboring towns for their ongoing support of our team. The swim team's biggest winter fundraiser, Italian Night at 56 Main St., raised nearly $3000. With 275 tickets sold and numerous donations made, our fans really showed that they could come out and support their local swim team.
Money raised at Italian Night goes to the Stingrays scholarship fund and for team equipment. Swimmers were the waitresses and waiters and they really came out and showed their team spirit. We would also like to thank our parents for helping in the background, prepping the food and donating all of the delicious desserts. Susan Swan's signature Stingrays Buckeyes are always a hit. Jayne Smith donated 17 pounds of ground beef. Finally, we could not have put on Italian Night if it were not for Ross and Amy Jones and Jerry and Robin Szawerda, proprieters of 56 Main Street and parents and grandparents of swimmer Lily Jones.
We had an awesome winter season and couldn't do it without the support of our friends and neighbors.
Sincerely,
Amelia Larkin, Stingrays swimmer
