  1. We lived in off Pleasant Valley Road from 1967-79. The Bartonsville bridge and williams river were two favorite places we'd go and visit and swim in the river. How sad to see it disappear in a flash. History destroyed by nature. HOW SAD! Never thought we'd see a flood like this in Vermont today! We just never know, do we?

  2. I luckily had the opportunity to photograph this bridge in 2010 (I am a novice photographer and covered bridge enthusiast from FL) and this absolutely breaks my heart into a million pieces. How unbelievably sad. I will hold out hope that the bridge is reconstructed, as so many have before it. This would truly be (and is still) a terrible loss not only for the community in beautiful VT, but for admirers like me if there were to be no plans to rebuild.

  3. I was really glad to get pics of the bridge this last Mothers Day. I would post them but not sure how.

  5. I am honored that you are linking to photos I took of this beautiful bridge last year. My heart broke to hear the news of its destruction.
