In the former RACLT (Rockingham Area Community Land Trust) building, changes have taken place. While some of the former employees, have stayed on; new ones have been added. The interiors have been painted, decorated and changed, but the heart of this organization has not. It is still focused on the community, it's people and home ownership.
The former Windham Housing Trust(Now Windham & Windsor Housing Trust) has worked with folks for 25 years. Since reopening the Springfield office, they have moved towards building relationships with town offices, human services and Windsor County officials. While the Brattleboro office will handle the rental projects and housing of the organization, the Springfield office's oversight will be Cathy Semans along with Home Buyer Counselors, Tina Johndrow and Missy Snow, and Rehab Specialist, Paul Pinsent work with new home buyers and buyers to be, as well as helping existing home owners with rehabilitation projects in their home.
Jeff Shumlin shared that, Connie Snow, Executive Director, had been with the organization for the 25 years and was dedicated to the future of the organization. Shumlin said "that while this is a daunting project, we are confident of the results. I urge you to give us a chance."
Windsor County Representative, Alice Emmons( A recent addition to the board of directors.) shared that Springfield "has great housing stock and great neighborhoods. We look forward to the future."

Windsor Housing Trust has been creating housing opportunities and fostering vibrant, diverse, and attractive communities since 1987.Each housing agreement specifies a floorplan, and Windsor Hall only signs as many housing agreements as there are rooms
ReplyDeleteToo bad RACLT could not just disappear. Springfield does not need any more low income housing and the people who live in it, or people owning houses but not paying their fair share of property taxes. Boycott the place!!
ReplyDeletere: "Springfield does not need any more low income housing and the people who live in it"
ReplyDeleteAMEN TO THAT!!!!!!! Pay careful attention to the worthless Rep Alice Emmons. She only appears for PR events where she is all too proud to be handing out other people's money.
Way to go Alice! How's it feel to never have a real job and live as an aged spinster in your parent's home?
