Recent activity of the Springfield Police Department


On March 19, 2012 Travis Noyes, 26, of Bellows Falls, was cited into Superior Court Windsor Circuit. Noyes was charged with Aiding in the Commission of a Felony for his involvement in local burglaries. Noyes was previously located and interviewed during a continued large scale multi-agency cooperative effort to address several area crimes across multiple states/communities.

On March 13, 2012 Mitchell Horton, 24 of Cavendish, met with Springfield Police and Vermont State Police Officers. Horton was found to have committed multiple burglaries and was subsequently lodged at S.S.C.F. in lieu of bail. Further charges by involved agencies are pending. Several Burglaries in the Town of Springfield were solved as a result of this interaction.

DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE: 2000 Saab 93
DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Sustained damage to passenger side of hood and windshield.
VEHICLE #2 OPERATOR: Alexis LaValley AGE: 19
CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Lempster, NH
DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE: 1999 Saab 9-3
DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Possible slight damage to undercarriage.
INJURIES
PEDESTRIAN #1 Name: Christine Harris AGE: 46
CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: N. Springfield, VT
NATURE OF INJURY: Life threatening, was transported to hospital by helicopter.
EMS: Springfield Ambulance and DHART Helicopter HOSPITAL: Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center
SUMMARY OF CRASH: Christine Harris was struck by both Vehicle #1 and then Vehicle #2 in the middle of the southbound lane of VT Route 106. At the time of the collision it was dark out and the roadway is not lighted. Due to her severe and life threatening injuries Christine was taken by DHART helicopter directly from the scene to DHMC in Lebanon, NH. It does not appear that speed was a factor and no alcohol or drug impairment was detected on either of the vehicles operators.
Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Springfield Police Department at 802-885-2113.
