I-91 tractor-trailer mishap

One lane of I-91 in Springfield had to be closed for three hours on Wednesday after slippery road conditions caused a tractor-trailer truck to jackknife.

This morning, we responded to a jackknifed tractor trailer on Interstate 91 in Springfield. The driver attempted to decelerate while going down a hill and the tractor trailer lost traction on the snow covered roadway.

The unit jack knifed and traveled off the right side of the highway approx. 20 feet off the pavement. The cab sustained damage to the fuel tank and sleeper cabin due to it contacting the trailer. The operator was not injured.
