  2. 4.0 is as high as it goes, so a tie for highest is plausible. One tie all tie, all highest.

  3. I guess college was out of the question? Normally some scholarships for those type of grades exist. All Springfield has to offer is working at Mickey D's or as a prison guard. The prison will train you in how to let an 88 year old get the better of you. Something to look forward to....

    1. Mickey D's and the prison are certainly NOT all that Springfield has to offer. Open your eyes. Just because you may not run in professional circles doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of computer programmers, project managers, writers, editors, publishers, doctors, veterinarians, etc. etc. etc.

    2. Anonymous 9:47 How many of those positions that you mention is an eighteen year old with just a high school diploma qualified for? None? Maybe he can open his own brain surgery clinic and you can be first in line.

    3. I was not making a statement about this person's qualifications. I was responding specifically to your negative generalization, "All Springfield has to offer is working at Mickey D's or as a prison guard."

  4. This is a very good kid who didn't have much handed to him. I hope for his sake he gets out of Springfield so he can make the best of his talents.

      Amen, Jean!

Incidentally, I think I owe you an apology on the methane from cows. It turns out that while methane is only 7% of the emissions, it is from 32 to 72 times worse a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide!!!

very big of you to come back with that info. No apology needed, it is a complex subject.

  6. Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is always hiring, great place to start a career. And Jeld Wen in Ludlow is hiring right now. Indeed.com is a great website for jobs. Good luck!
