SHS Alumni A “Welcome Home” To Our Springfield High School Alumni! Submitted by admin on Tue, 06/10/2014 - 4:16pm SPRINGFIELD, VT -Springfield High School Alumni Association President, Jean Patoine and Past-President Keith Ferguson, hang the sign to welcome folks back to town for annual celebrations with classmates and old friends, a tradition that started over 60 years ago. These celebrations bring more former residents back to town than any other event. Annual Alumni festivities will kick off with the Alumni Banquet on Thursday, June 12 at the Springfield VFW! Come and join us as we crown the King and Queen (chosen by their peers), introduce the top scholars as well as the scholarship recipients. The evening will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The meal choices are roast beef, roasted chicken or baked haddock and the cost is $25 per person. Friday, June 13 get ready for the Annual Alumni Golf Tournament held at the Crown Point Country Club. Sign up your four-some or join a team by contacting Bill Flore at 802-885-2507. Check in at 12:30 p.m. for the 18-Hole Scramble that starts at 1 p.m. “Landmarks of the World” is the theme for the annual parade on Saturday the 14th beginning at 10:30 a.m. Many classes, local businesses and organizations are making plans to participate and as always, competition between the classes for the “grand float prize” is fierce! Please be generous as our “Bucket Brigade” passes by, as this parade costs the Association in excess of $6,500 and you can help us continue to provide it for many years! Directly following the parade is the gathering at Riverside Middle School to get a closer look at the wonderful floats, view antique and classic cars, enjoy delicious foods and drinks from the vendors and stop by with the children for a turn in the jump tent! The Annual Meeting begins at 1 p.m. at which time parade prizes will be awarded, SHSAA trustees will be elected, and suggestions will be taken for the 2018 parade theme! The fun doesn’t stop there! Stick around for the Alumni Soccer Tournament. The girls’ game will be held at 4 p.m. and the men’s game at 6 p.m. at Brown Field. The tournament is open to all alumni.
