Springfield Elks Lodge present scholarships Jun 17, 2014 S 0 Area students attended the recent awarding of Springfield Elks Lodge No. 1560 scholarships. Jennifer Kollman, Cameron Blais and Peter Kendall, all of Springfield High School, were missing as they had a senior trip and could not make the presentation. SPRINGFIELD — Recently, Springfield Elks Lodge No. 1560 awarded their annual academic scholarships to area high school seniors by Springfield Elks chairman Jacqueline Driscoll-Page. As in the past, scholarships were awarded to six seniors from three area schools. Springfield, Black River and Green Mountain high school seniors were awarded $500 each to the schools that they will be attending in the fall. This years recipients were as follows; Jennifer Kollman of Springfield High School and the daughter of Michael and Nicole Kollman will be attending Northeastern University. Cameron Blais of Springfield High School and the daughter of John and Erica Blais and will be attending St. Michael's College. Kiely Schuck of Springfield High School the daughter of Thomas and Maura Schuck will be attending American University. Peter Kendall of Springfield High Sschool and the son of Paul and Eileen Kendall will be attending St. Michael's College. Rachel Martel of Green Mountain Union High School and the daughter of Raymond and Kathlene Martel will be attending St. Michael's College. Hanley Murray, the daughter of the late Peter Murray and Nikki Geannelis, will be attending Simmons College. Three additional Vermont Elks Scholarships were awarded on this night in the amount of $1,000 each to: Sarah Rumrill of Black River, the daughter of James and Patricia Rumrill, will be attending Bentley College; Emily Tornquist of Green Mountain Union High School, the daughter of Jim Tornquist and Ki Ferland, will be attending Clark College; George Tucker, Jr. of Black River, the son of George Tucker, Sr. and Sheree Vaughn, will be attending VTC.
