Karen Harrison Receives CRA Certification Posted on 7/3/2014 Karen Harrison, RN, BSRT (R)(CV), Dir. Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory Services at Springfield Hospital, received the credential of Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) through the Radiology Administration Certification Commission (RACC). Karen joined Springfield Hospital in 2007 as manager of Diagnostic Imaging Department, and currently also oversees the Laboratory Department. Prior to joining Springfield Hospital, Ms. Harrison worked in imaging departments at Glens Falls Hospital, Glens Falls, NY, and Rutland Regional Medical Center, Rutland, VT. Ms. Harrison is active in the ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists), the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA), and the VSRT (Vermont Society of Radiologic Technologists). She holds dual certifications as registered nurse and radiologic technologist, with specialty certification in cardiovascular interventional radiology. She earned her BS degree in Radiologic Science from Champlain College in Burlington, VT. Ms. Harrison resides in Rutland, VT. The Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) program is the first and only credentialing opportunity recognizing the range of skills and expertise an imaging administrator possesses. The credential was designed to recognize professional competencies in five key medical imaging management areas: -Financial Management -Communication and Information Management -Human Resource Management -Operations Management -Asset Management Candidates who meet education and experience requirements and pass a national examination are awarded the credential CRA.
