The Black River Action Team is seeking volunteers of all ages to help clean the Windsor County waterway during its 15th annual “RiverSweep” on Saturday.
People can join the trash-pickup event along the Black River’s bed and banks by signing in after 8 a.m. at either the Springfield Shopping Plaza’s Citizens Bank drive-up or the Ludlow town green gazebo.
Volunteers will receive refreshments, work gloves, garbage bags and a request to return by 11 a.m. so BRAT can take inventory and serve lunch.

ReplyDeleteOh you cute lil imposter you
ReplyDeleteWe had an amazing turnout, over 100 volunteers working in 4 communities, cleaning across 20 miles of river! Nothing more worthwhile than spending a few hours taking care of your waterways, getting out in the fresh air, and being part of a positive project like this. Thank you to all the volunteers and all the wonderful area business sponsors and supporters, to WCFR and SAPA-TV for recording the event, and to the other media outlets who took an interest.
