Springfield Senior Center's Christmas Bazaar this Saturday By Terri Emerson, Director of the Springfield Senior Center | Nov 17, 2014 It’s time for our wonderful Christmas Bazaar at the Springfield Senior Center on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 139 Main St., in Springfield. Time to get into the holiday spirit and start your Christmas shopping. We will have our famous Cookie Walk. The secret is our members are the best bakers/cooks around! Freeze them for later — great to have on hand in case guests show up. They will think you worked all day making them. You can buy your breads, pies and goodies for your holiday dinner at the Food Sale Table. Stop and enjoy the delicious Luncheon Table, where we will have chicken ‘n’ biscuits, soups, sandwiches, pies, cakes and more.
We have many crafters this year — some new and some delight us by coming back every year. Our Ceramics Department will have a table. They make mixing bowls, casserole dishes, pitchers (make a gift with a quart of maple syrup), coffee mugs, Christmas trees, village houses and more. Mary Vittum will return with her wonderful assortment of homemade items. Judy Greene will be here again this year with her beautiful jewelry. Val Tufts will return with all her wonderful creations. Rose Bromley will have a table selling her unique jewelry. Dale O’Brien will have a table with her beautiful handmade sweaters. Handmade items last so much longer! Denis Menard will have a table with his beautiful notecards for sale. Audrey Tarbell will have a table this year too — Audrey sells at the Beyond the Unicorn Fair so I wasn’t sure she could do both! Flossie Cook and her daughter, Sally, will return with all their beautiful creations — they come over from Queensbury, New York, to do our bazaar. New vendor Deb Craigue will be here with her painting on barrel staves. Julia Ravlin will return with her primitive Country Collection. Also new is Betsy Boundy with her watercolor paintings. Everyone tries to keep the prices reasonable so come and start your holiday shopping with us!
