A Springfield Vermont man who allegedly threatened to commit "suicide by cop" on social media was arrested after he arrived at the Port Authority bus terminal by a Greyhound bus Monday morning, police said.
Padraic Scanlon, 19, of Springfield, Vermont, allegedly made threats on social media that led police to believe he was suicidal and armed as he traveled to New York City, according to Port Authority police.
Springfield police alerted local authorities, who tracked him to the Port Authority bus terminal, police said. He was found with six grams of MDMA, 12 Oxycodone pills and a small amount of marijuana.
He was not armed, Port Authority police said.
