SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Rotary President Carol Cole is pleased to present a donation from the Springfield Rotary to the “Wet Paint Live” project to Nancy Lanoue, accompanied by committee members, Barb Rhorbach, Lynn VanNatta and Jenevieve Johnson.
The “Wet Paint Live” project will take place Saturday, Oct. 10, as artists from Vermont and New England enjoy the “Plein Air Walk,” which will include the Vermont Apple Festival, along the Black River into downtown and the spectacular Comtu Falls. Visitors will be able to watch artist express their visions of Springfield during the beautiful fall season.
“Wet Paint Live” originated last summer as a group of individuals and organization representatives met to talk about ways to bring more focus of the arts in Springfield. A result of the effort is an outdoor painting event to attract artists and visitors to downtown Springfield. The committee’s long range goals are to generate additional funds to support both adult and young artists to create and show their work and to provide an avenue for children to benefit from art studies.
The arts are an opportunity to bring focus to the community and the Rotary is proud to support this effort.
The 2014-2015 theme for Rotary International is “Light Up Rotary” and efforts both locally, regionally and internationally will focus on bringing more awareness to Rotary and to the work they do. If you have an interest in learning more about Rotary and possibility joining, call any Rotarian or Carol Cole at (802) 885-2500.
