Two Neanderthals Smokin’ BBQ Review BY STEPHY SUMNER // FEBRUARY 5, 2015 // 2 COMMENTS 10443414_10152624201966711_4249885921833457208_n I recently made a stop at Two Neanderthals Smokin’ BBQ in Springfield, VT. I am a HUGE BBQ Fan(its actually my favorite cuisine) and have been left very disappointed in the past in the area with the lack of good BBQ. When I caught wind that a BBQ place was opening up right in Springfield(which is a 20 minute drive for me) I got super excited! Two Neanderthals Smokin’ BBQ is a food truck located at 361 River Street in Springfield VT. Trevor and Mike are behind Two Neanderthals Smokin’ BBQ which serves ribs, pulled pork, burgers, dogs, handcut fries, homemade sides and more! Their menu includes a pulled pork sandwich which is made from pork shoulder that is hand rubbed with spices and smoked for 12 hours which is hand pulled and features their amazing homemade BBQ sauce served on a toasted bun, Hand rubbed ribs that are smoked and slathered in homemade BBQ sauce, Brisket Sandwich which is beef brisket hand rubbed with spices, smoked for 12 hours and served on a toasted bun. They also offer Beans, Hand Cut Fries, Homemade Coleslaw, Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers and more! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries and a side of coleslaw. 10387632_10152624199291711_4808110684300126836_n 10959691_10152624199501711_4106153719701229142_n Review: I ordered two pulled pork sandwiches, both with fries and a side of coleslaw and it came to $22. A Decent price in my opinion for a lunch for two considering the portion sizes. I seriously have to say this is some of the BEST BBQ I have EVER had! The pork was juicy and very tender and had zero fat. It literally fell apart in my mouth. I was really excited to find out they use locally made rolls and are a great additon the the sandwich. The sandwich had an intense smoky flavor which someone like me LOVES! The hand cut fries were very tasty and seasoned well. The Homemade BBQ sauce was my favorite, it was like something iv never tasted, its an amazing mixture of sweetness and tangy, not to thick but not to thin. The Coleslaw was creamy and tangy and tasted very fresh. I would definitely give them 5/5 stars! The guys were very friendly, the food was amazing, the portion size is great for the price and I highly suggest them! You will NOT leave hungry! If you visit, tell them Stephs Cheers and Jeers sent you! Follow them on Fb to stay up to date! *I received zero compensation for this post*
Gave them a try a while back. Very disappointed in the quality for the high cost per pound. Five almost meatless ribs for fifteen bucks. Ouch!
ReplyDeleteSpringfield's own Phantom Gourmet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice job this young lady did...pictures and a well written review of the cute little food wagon.
I will definitely give it a try.
Poppers ? I don't think I would get them again. Not that great for the money.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much everyone
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is the one in the article. She runs a small blog and does many reviews, her reviews are her own experience, she doesnt get paid to give a positive review and she is always honest with her experience. When I asked her where she wanted to go for her birthday lunch, she choose this place.
ReplyDeleteShe loves that smoked meat flavor, I personally do not care much for it and I usually do not eat it.
It was a cold day that day but these two guys were out there cooking up some great smelling meats!
My daughter ordered a pulled pork sandwich, hand cut fried and home made coleslaw and since I was hungry and it smelled so good, I order the same. To my surprise, I really enjoyed it. The meat was "melt in your mouth" tender and had a great taste, it had a prefect smoke flavor and it wasnt that "smoke from a bottle" flavor I have had at other BBQ places.
The fries were crispy and the slaw was nice and juicy, not dry like some. I have to admit, I am now a fan of this place and I will go back and try something different, I heard that the brisket is amazing!
I have to tell those who complain about the prices that you get what you pay for, if you want something cheap, that's what its going to taste like!
I think these two guys do a great job and for them to stand out in the snow and cold, they sure love what they are doing!
Thank you for also telling us about what you had and how well you liked it. Your daughter did a great job and I hope she can get into some of the other restaurants to give us her review.
