Police: Shooting victim dies, suspect sought Free Press Staff 2:47 p.m. EDT April 19, 2015 BUR COUNTY WINDSOR.jpg (Photo: FILE) \ SPRINGFIELD – A man has died as a result of gunshot injuries suffered during a Saturday night shooting incident as police continue to search for a suspect, Springfield police said. Wesley Wing, 37, succumbed to his wounds at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire, police said. Police did not say where Wing resides. An autopsy will be performed on Wing on Monday in Concord, N.H., police said. Police said the shooting incident appears to be isolated, and evidence does not suggest any threat to public safety as of Sunday afternoon. Police are also searching to make contact with a witness driving a black Infiniti car with Vermont plates, and a possible Vermont Strong plate on the front. Springfield police responded shortly after 6 p.m. to the Jake's South Street Market after an alarm was activated. While police were en route, a person called the station and said there had been a shooting, police said. Wing had made his way to the store for help, police said. He was transported to Springfield Hospital, and then air-lifted from there to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Wing underwent surgery and he was initially listed in critical condition, police said. Police urge those with information about the incident to call the Springfield Police Department at 885-2113.
