Plans underway for new sidewalk for Elm Hill School

Plans are underway to study what kind of new sidewalk could be built leading to Elm Hill School in Springfield.

  1. I thought the sidewalk on south street,from union street to the high school was supposed to be done this year

  2. IF the stone retaining walls were repaired by the property owners and weeds and brush were cut back, this sidewalk is as good as any in town.Ths is a bad use of tax payers money and not needed. Whether these stone walls are deemed safe by some engineer, the perception in looking at them, is they are not, so people walk in the street to get by them

  3. 2500' at $ 130.00 per foot = $325,000.00. My God this just plain makes no sense. Are you rebuilding all the way to Main St? You know this town has some serious road problems and we are spending tax money on a sidewalk that nobody walks on?????
